Borovička is Slovakia's most storied spirit — a clear, dry juniper distillate with roots stretching back centuries in the Trenčín region, where generations of master distillers perfected their craft under the shadow of a majestic castle.
We source exclusively from Old Herold, a Trenčín distillery operating since 1886 and home to Juniperus — Slovakia's oldest borovička, first produced in 1905. Their trademark was registered in Czechoslovakia in 1936, and in 1967 Juniperus received international protection of origin from the Patents and Inventions Office in Geneva, registered as No. 46.
Every bottle is a double-distilled juniper brandy made from hand-picked fruits, combined with fine grain spirit by experienced distillery masters — so simple, and still exceptional, for more than a century.
What We Import
Slovakia's oldest borovička — rich, savoury and resinous with fruity, herbal and spicy notes. The benchmark expression, unchanged in character for over a century.
A distinctive bitter expression of the classic Juniperus — the Horec (gentian) variant adds an extra layer of alpine herbal complexity to the foundational juniper character.
Originally produced by Slovlik in 1920, Koniferum is a finely balanced juniper distillate supplemented with bespoke flavouring — smooth, light and approachable.
A London Dry gin combining two slowly distilled macerates from a juniper base with herbs and spices — lemon peel, angelica, cardamom, liquorice, coriander, bearded iris and orange peel.
